Soundbaths

Soundbaths for Relaxation and Wellbeing

Rebalance Yourself With Sound

Experience the calming sounds of a range of gongs, singing bowls and gentle percussion in a soundbath for wellbeing and relaxation. The sounds are weaved together into a rich tapestry of therapeutic sounds which can have a wide range of benefits for the mind and body.

We all need to take time out from the stresses of the modern world and it is important to to look after our wellbeing and give ourselves the time and space to rejuvenate the body and mind. Soundbaths are an effective way to provide this balance we all need in a natural way, leaving us feeling refreshed and grounded.

These soundbaths work with gentle and intricate patterns and merging of sounds which allows for a deep sense of relaxation, enabling the brainwaves to lower down the alpha state, which is similar to daydreaming or close to sleep, but still awake. This is a hugely benefiical state to allow you to restore equilibrium.

Everything in the world is made up of atoms which vibrate. We all have our own unique frequency which is our perfect state of balance. This can become out of alignment due to outside influences which have a stronger vibration, setting us off balance and resonating at a frequency which is not our natural level. This can result in what is known as dis-ease, making us feel unwell, lowering our immune system and making us feel uncomfortable. The body has an amazing ability to regain this balance during a soundbath and will take on the vibrations necessary to restore you back to your natural and most efficient frequency.

Soundbaths can have a wide range of benefits ranging from emotional (rest and relaxation), mental (depression, anxiety, insomnia), physical (pain, discomfort), or spiritual. The sound comes from one central source but can be received in many different ways depending on the focused intention of the recipient.

No previous experience is needed, and everything will be explained before the session starts. You will need to bring a yoga mat, pillow, 1 or 2 blankets, eye covering and a bottle of water. It is important that you are comfortable during the session.

There has been a great deal of research in recent years which has proven the beneficial effects of soundbaths. One useful resource is the British Academy of Sound Therapy research papers: https://www.britishacademyofsoundtherapy.com/sound-therapy-research/
